I just wanted to post a super quick thing to say I really like the look of the current theme Forumer has here. It's the first time I visited in a little while on desktop and it's really elegant. Plus the snow is a nice touch too.2 points

I'm pleased to announce that we raised $121.50 for UNAIDS! CodForum raised $115.00 for UNAIDS! Thank you everyone who help contribute to the event!2 points

I'm just going to put a warning out: Sharing an opinion - is fine, sharing anti-vaxination sentiments, or claiming vaccines cause autism is not. I trust members to do the right thing and not make this an issue. There are presently a lot of unknowns about this vaccine and we are not in the business of sharing misinformation. I will not hesitate to remove posts that are on the wrong side of the argument about vaccinating in general. That said: I am not necessarily concerned about the vaccine. If there were major issues it would not have received regulatory approval2 points

I think you need to do something with the nodes - instead of that ugly gray background with the font awesome icons , why not add background images or something to make it more lively? It's blah right now. Needs more color and positivity into the theme!1 point

That's an extensive list, thank you for sharing. Unsplash is great. Pexels seems very nice also, especially with all those videos.1 point

Yeah, Affinity is great, and I love that I don't need to pay for an expensive subscription. I have Affinity Designer, Photo, and Publisher.1 point

I really like IPB because it feels modern and professional, it's also easy to customize and expand with various official addons.1 point

This is perhaps the first time I’ve seen a XenForo site where I’ve had to check the footer to see what software it is running so kudos to you for that but: - That screenshot nearly blinded me. I was in a dark room with my phone on about 3% brightness. That white is exceptionally harsh, and I’m worried your dark theme will be equally harsh. - On that, it’s also quite stark. There’s remarkably little colour so it is quite hard to distinguish between which forum, for example, is which unless I really pay attention and read them. - The recent activity box should either be on the bottom1 point

Hey @Puppuccino! Happy to see you back around! Thank you for the kind words about the design! I’ve been tweaking it for a while trying to get it just right. Haha.1 point

Given that Apple doesn’t support this at all without an actual app, I don’t see the problem. A majority of your userbase wouldn’t want to install an app to view your site anyway. I know I wouldn’t.1 point

I am a big no sayer to any forum owners that decide to bring in a merger with another forum when the forum is active enough. A merger, according to me, is unfair to loyal memberbase and mostly not taken well. Also, it takes away the conducive forum ecosystem which is marred by the new comers and acts as a disincentive to further invest time in the forum. Its a big no.1 point

The US just gave us $600 and before that, $1200. For some reason they think the unemployed and very poor people who could not afford to lose their job, can somehow live off of $1800 for almost an entire year. They've handled it quite well.1 point

I'm quite sceptical about it so I'm not even sure yet if I would. Just concerned about the long-term effects with a vaccine created in such a short amount of time.1 point

I also had an Australian physics teacher a few years back who was clueless too. Just let us do what we want tbh.1 point

Damn. The amount of transitions your site has undergone. But, you have your own software which is amazing and something that not many of us can do. Good job on that. That's exactly what I was thinking with my site as well but, that requires a huge amount of resources and dedication.1 point

Thank you for the kind words! XenForo was definitely a nice software, though lacked a lot of the "modernness" that I was striving for. IPB offers a lot more in regard to features that I wanted, such as pages/databases that are built right into the platform, as well as e-commerce which will one day be utilized. IPB just feels more of a community platform than XenForo did, at least for me and my vision for Forumer.1 point

Well, the plan was two weeks by the beach. Australia, NSW, we had no cases in three weeks (except those in quarantine) - and we were pretty well unrestricted. Alas, we now have @Katos’ strain of the virus so that mightn’t be happening now.1 point

We went from phpBB2(!) to phpBB3, to MyBB, to phpBB3, to MyBB, to our own. I am not making this up. We went to our own because even the paid ones didn't do what I wanted without a massive rebuild, so no, I wouldn't. But that's just me, and I am almost certainly in the minority.1 point

Good to see another one of these events happening. The special theme is a nice touch!1 point

That isn't how I work. You're not an intern, you're a moderator. You're supposed to be impartial, not doing things because you get things out of it.1 point

I must disagree with you there, at least partially. You should never hire a bunch of staff just to open your forum, then you'll have a forum of just staff and no members which is a huge turnoff for those who seriously forum. Maybe one person could help, not a bunch.1 point

I say if a forum has a light theme and a dark theme then that's all you really need.1 point
