Altair 1
Should forum games count as posts? Do you guys have it count on your forums. What is your opinion on this?
Administrators s3_gunzel 295 Posted June 29, 2020 Administrators Share Posted June 29, 2020 We (both here and on my project) disallow spammy threads in general... so you're not even technically able to post them.
tankerkiller125 22
I don't know if they should really count, but on the Flarum community forum we allow games because they create really long threads (which are great for stress testing infinite loading and other stuff)
Dan 5
I think this can be determined on a per forum basis. Like Forumer, probably doesn't need to be counting forum games to post counts. However, Gab A Ton is based around general discussions and forum games and being able to unwind and have a little fun.
DanTheSir 0
what kind of forum games do you run? I'm not familiar with any. Are there any on here?
Administrators s3_gunzel 295 Posted July 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 2, 2020 Are there any on here? We (both here and on my project) disallow spammy threads in general... So no - there are no forum games here.
Community Engagement Katos 70 Posted July 4, 2020 Community Engagement Share Posted July 4, 2020 I don't know if they should really count, but on the Flarum community forum we allow games because they create really long threads (which are great for stress testing infinite loading and other stuff) This. Paanda 9
I don't know if they should really count, but on the Flarum community forum we allow games because they create really long threads (which are great for stress testing infinite loading and other stuff) This is the only reason these "forum games" should exist, unless you have a general discussion forum and are in need of activity - so you create a space where people can count to 1000.... Administrators s3_gunzel 295 Posted July 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 5, 2020 are in need of activity Even on a general board, I’d consider these sorts of threads to be spam - or at the very least pointless - and I would remove them.
Puppuccino 50
I think they should count towards your total post count. After all, if you try to artificially inflate your count by posting spammy comments then you're not really achieving anything by doing that anyway.
Ash 7
I count it towards the post count of my forum but it hasn't been a huge problem for me because the section doesn't have too many posts. If your forum games section has more posts than any other section of your forum, then it may be time to consider not counting it
Chel 5
No. It just encourages people to spam to get high post counts and reap any benefits related to having a high post count.
