skysnap 2
I learned photoshop back in 2004s or around I remember. It was a good software learning experience at that time. In fact the software was pretty much not much established at that point. But then over a period of time the software started becoming more popular and many other companies came out with their own brands of photoshop clone. Recently one completely free and open source software also came out in the market. This software was known as GIMP. Many people who can't afford photoshop makes use of them. So if you have used both softwares, then which one is your favorite?
ARD 3
I have never used Gimp, as I always have been a fan of Photoshop. Just a shame it costs so much money nowadays.
Mace 5
I've never really used GIMP, but I've used PhotoShop for quite some time. Nowadays, I use mainly use Sketch or Adobe XD to design, but sometimes I still use PhotoShop as well.
Esmee 17
I can't say much about GIMP considering my limited exposure. But the GIMP was pretty much hard to navigate due to the interface. That seems to be the issue with the open source community. They are extremely bad at the design. And that's one more reason Adobe seems to be having more control over the market. Puppuccino 50
I don't have Photoshop anymore but I would chose that over Gimp. It's much more sophisticated and has been tooling for complex jobs. The only problem is that it's so darn expensive though.
Jake 6
Photoshop. Hands down. I hate GIMP and it’s horrible. If you prefer GIMP over Photoshop, we have a real problem!

The UI in gimp isn’t great, but if it stops me paying I’m all for it.

If you have the money and want to invest into a program, get Photoshop. Photoshop is sometimes worth the price. GIMP is free for a reason.
Malcolm 32
May I suggest another contender? I use Affinity, and I absolutely love it. Compared to GIMP you'd need to pay for a license however it is a lot cheap than Photoshop. Check it out here https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/
_B_ 6
I definitely like the use of Photoshop and I personally find it quite easy to use. However, as a free alternative, GIMP really isn't that bad at all (but to be honest, it has been some time since I did use it). I would also think paint.net is not bad too. But, I would definitely consider Photoshop highly because it is just much easier to navigate and use. Edited October 18, 2020 by _B_

Uncrowned Guard 3
I love GIMP and everything it is doing, but sadly it isn't always completely friendly with colors in some pdf files and owning Photoshop has turned into a requirement as the pile of pdf files I have adds up.
